IPL 2022: 'Most important thing...' Rajasthan Royals coach Lasith Malinga's advise for fast bowlers

After 13 IPL seasons, Sri Lankan legend Lasith Malinga has moved from Mumbai Indians to Rajasthan Royals. As he took over the responsibility of the fast bowling coach of the new-looking Rajasthan Royals' squad, the legendary Sri Lankan cricketer spoke about his responsibility at the franchise.

Once IPL's highest wicket-taker, the 38-year-old said that the most important thing for a fast bowler on the field is to realise that there are only 2 batters and the name isn't important. The bowler has to train against a right-hander and a left-hander, it’s important to just train just according to that, it doesn’t matter what the name of the batsman is, he said.

Due to Covid-19, Malinga said that he had turned down the opportunity. 'I didn’t want to stay away from my family. But this year, having also worked with the Sri Lankan team, I felt I could use my experience and give back to the game that I love, by working with this group of players, he added.
