ICC Women's World Cup 2022: West Indies fined for maintaining slow over-rate against India

For maintaining a sluggish over-rate during the ICC Women's ODI World Cup match against India, West Indies players were fined 40 percent of their match fee.

After time allowances were taken into account, match referee Shandre Fritz imposed the sanctions as West Indies were two overs short.

There was no need for a formal hearing as West Indies captain Stafanie Taylor pleaded guilty to the offense and accepted the sanctions.

The charge was levelled by on-field umpires Eloise Sheridan and Paul Wilson, third umpire Ahmed Shah Pakteen, and fourth umpire Ruchira Palliyaguruge.

Earlier, India halted West Indies' two-match winning run in the Women's World Cup as Mithali Raj-led side thrashed the Caribbeans by 155 runs.
