Harbhajan Singh announces retirement from cricket

Harbhajan Singh has announced his retirement from all formats of cricket on Friday. The 41-year-old said that he had been contemplating the decision for a long time now and due to his commitments with his last IPL team Kolkata Knight Riders, he could not make the announcement earlier.

The former cricketer who announced the news said,, 'all good things come to an end and today as I bid adieu to the game that has given me everything in life, I would like to thank everyone who made this 23-year-long journey beautiful and memorable.'

The veteran bowler from Jalandhar who made his debut in March 1998 has been one of the most successful cricketers in Indian cricket history. In 2001 in Kolkata, he became the first Indian cricketer who registered a Test hat-trick when he was playing against Australia. He has taken 417, 269, and 25 wickets in a total of 103 Tests, 236 ODIs, and 28 T20Is he has played in his career spanning 23 years of an international career.
