Glenn Maxwell refuses to fan flames in David Warner-Mitchell Johnson feud, backs Warner's Test selection

Australian cricket is witnessing a public feud between former teammates David Warner and Mitchell Johnson, but Glenn Maxwell is choosing not to get involved in the controversy. While tensions rise, Maxwell is clear that he supports Warner's selection in the Test team for the upcoming Pakistan series.

In a recent interview with Australian radio station SEN, Maxwell expressed his reluctance to add fuel to the ongoing dispute. He emphasized Warner's significant contributions to Australian cricket over the years and pointed out that the selectors had a clear stance on his inclusion.

"I’m not going to throw my name into some headlines about this. But Davey’s been an absolute champion of Australian cricket for a long period of time, and the selectors were pretty clear on what they thought of it (selecting him). I’m looking forward to seeing Davey in that first Test and him making a lot of runs this summer," remarked Maxwell, steering clear of taking sides in the disagreement.

Warner and Johnson's feud took a personal turn, with Johnson revealing that a text message from Warner earlier this year played a role in their strained relationship. Despite the escalating tensions, Maxwell chose to maintain a neutral stance.
