Ben Stokes and Jofra Archer to be in England's T20 World Cup squad?

Ben Stokes and Jofra Archer are not yet ruled out of the T20 World Cup 2024, which is about 6 months away.

England's white-ball coach Matthew Mott claimed that both cricketers will have places kept open for them in the T20 World Cup squad.

Stokes underwent knee surgery after the World Cup and is recovering ahead of the Test series vs India. He will also miss the upcoming IPL.

Speaking to the BBC, Mott said, 'Every team in the world wants someone like that [Stokes] and they're rare. When you've got a seam bowler in your top six, it makes selection a hell of a lot easier. So [choosing him at the T20 World Cup] is a given.'

Archer, on the other hand, has had a series of injuries and missed the Ashes 2023 and the World Cup this year. He will also skip IPL 2024.

Talking about the all-rounder, Mott said, 'In terms of Jofra, you've just got absolute box-office pace, change of pace, bowl any over in the innings. Him on the park is massive, everyone would agree with that.'
