BCCI selectors meet Virat Kohli ahead of T20I comeback: Report | India vs Afghanistan

As Virat Kohli gets set to make a comeback to T20Is after over a year, the BCCI selectors reportedly met the former India captain ahead of the 3-match T20I series against Afghanistan.

According to a report in Cricbuzz, the selectors had discussions with Virat regarding expectations from him. The communication was regarding his role in the shortest format for India. In fact, BCCI chief selector Ajit Agarkar met him in Cape Town, according to the report.

The report added that it is not clear if such similar discussion took place with Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill.

Despite playing his last T20I match way back on 10 November, 2022, Virat is currently the leading run-scorer in the shortest format. He has smashed 4008 runs in 115 T20Is at an average of 52.73 and with a strike rate of almost 138.
