Ashes 2023: Good news for England! James Anderson likely to attain full fitness soon

Amidst the gloom of Jofra Archer getting ruled out of the English summer, there is some good news for the Three Lions.

James Anderson, who sustained a groin injury during a county game, is likely to be available for the Ashes series, which starts on June 16.

While talking to BBC's Tailenders podcast, the 40-year-old pacer said he expects to return to competitive cricket in a couple of weeks.

“It’s obviously not great getting injured, but it’s probably the best outcome for what it is because it’s a low-grade thing. I think in a couple of weeks, I’ll be back to full fitness,” said Anderson.

England's leading wicket-taker also added that he is trying to avoid a similar situation from 2019 when he got injured on Day 1 of the first Ashes Test.
