Jofra Archer's frustrations continue to mount as he has been officially sidelined for the remainder of the summer, effectively ruling him out of the highly anticipated Ashes series.

During the announcement of England's squad for the one-off Test against Ireland, the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) provided an update on Jofra Archer's current medical condition.

The ECB confirmed that recent scans have revealed a recurrence of a stress fracture in Archer's right elbow, which prematurely ended his participation in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) with the Mumbai Indians.

“It has been a frustrating and upsetting period for Jofra Archer," said Rob Key, ECB's Managing Director for England Men’s Cricket. "He was making good progress until a recurrence of the elbow injury, which kept him out for an extended period previously.

"We wish him the best of luck with his recovery. I’m sure we will see Jofra back to his best and winning games for England, whatever the format. Hopefully, sooner rather than later."

As part of his recovery process, Archer will now undergo rehabilitation under the care of the medical teams from England and Sussex. They will be focused on effectively managing his injury and ensuring his return to full fitness.
