Anil Kumble suggests India should have separate teams for Tests and white-ball cricket

Former Indian captain and coach Anil Kumble has suggested that every team should have separate teams for different formats, highlighting how specialists are required in the T20 format.

After England lifted the recently concluded T20 Cricket World Cup, Kumble weighed in on the need for investing in all-rounders.

He cited the example of England's Liam Livingstone and Australia's Marcus Stoinis, who have been an integral part of their respective team's success.

Stressing that the Indian team also needs to have specialists, he stated, "Definitely, you need separate teams. You need, certainly, T20 specialists. I think what this English team has shown and even the last (T20) World Cup champions Australia have shown is that you need to invest in a lot of all-rounders."

Former Australian all-rounder Tom Moody also added that all the teams should consider splitting their coaches for the Tests and white-ball formats like England have done. England have Brendon McCullum as their Test coach and Matthew Mott as their white-ball coach.
