Low sex drive in men can cause early death: Study

There are numerous studies about what is likely to cause early death in men. And, now one amongst them is having low libido. This is not what we are saying but the latest study published in the journal PLOS One is suggesting so. As per the study, men with low sex drive are almost twice (1.82 times) as likely to suffer early death.

The researchers from Yamagata University, Japan studied around 20,000 people of which there were 8,588 men and 12,411 women.

The research found that those who lacked sexual interest tended to be older, had diabetes, laughed less, and were likely to drink more.

Other than this, men who were over the age of 40, and who had low libido were 1.94 times as likely to die from cancer and 1.36 times as likely to die of heart disease.

Researchers also noted that women reported more than twice lower libidos as men but there was no link found between low sex drive and mortality.

Scientists concluded by saying that maintaining sexual interest may be related to positive psychological well-being among men.
