Keema to Chingri Malai curry: 9 Indian dishes make it to Taste Atlas' 'List Of Best Stews In The World'

Indian cuisine has been a favourite worldwide. People from around the world love the spices and flavours Indian food has to offer. Recently, Taste Atlas named 8 Indian stews in the 'List Of Best Stews In The World' list. Here are some more deets.

Indian dishes make it to 'Best Stews In the World' list

Indian dishes have impressed one and all, the latest list by Taste Atlas is proof. Based on its rankings of April 2024, this list contains nine Indian dishes - the highest number of features from a single country.

While Keema (a dish of flavourful minced meat) secured the 6th position, Chingri malai curry from Bengal was ranked 18th. Popular non-veg stew Korma was ranked 22nd. Goa's Vindaloo took the 26th position, while Dal Tadka occupied the 30th spot. Vegetarian favourite Saag Paneer took the 32nd spot while Shahi Paneer and Misal were 34th and 38th. The last spot on the list was occupied by Indian dal (collectively).

Keema has Persian roots and was brought to India by the Mughals. Chingri Malai Curry is a prawn dish that was made in Bengal and was even popular during the British era. Korma was also invented in the Indian sub continent. The origin of Misal Pav can be traced back to the city of Kolhapur in Maharashtra.
