Eid-al-Fitr or Meethi Eid is expected to be observed on 3rd May this year. The auspicious festival is celebrated after the holy month of Ramadan, in which the Muslims fast and feast together with their friends and family.

It won't be an exaggeration to say that Meethi Eid remains incomplete without Sewai. Packed with the goodness of nuts and cooked with milk, sugar and saffron, this dessert tastes super delicious.

So, here's a classic Sewai recipe you can easily try at home. Take a look!

Ingredients of Sewai

• 2 tbsp desi ghee
• 25 gram cashew nuts
• 25 gram almond
• 25 gram raisins
• 100 gram sewai
• 600 ml milk
• 3 tbsp sugar
• 5 green cardamom
• 3-4 saffron strings

How to Make Sewai

Step 1: In a pan, roast sewai in desi ghee and keep aside

Step 2 : Boil milk in a pan and add sugar along with saffron strings and green cardamoms

Step 3 : Add the fried sewai into the milk pan. Decorate it with chopped nuts and serve cold or hot!
