Allahabad: Probe ordered against student who accused teacher of forced conversion and sexual coercion

The Allahabad High Court has ordered a probe against a student who had accused his teacher of forced conversion and sexual coercion, a report by Bar and Bench said.

The decision came after the court heard the plea moved by the Principal of a Kanpur school. It was noted that a First Information Report (FIR) had been filed against the teacher following an order by a Judicial Magistrate based on the informant’s complaint, the legal portal further reported.

The court also noted an independent inquiry into the matter that suggested the allegations might have been fabricated to cover up the student's actions.

Additionally, the court indicated that both the student and his father, the informant, could face criminal prosecution if the inquiry’s findings were validated.

The court directed the Commissioner of Police, Kanpur, to transfer the investigation to the cyber cell, instructing them to report if the student had created any fake accounts using the teacher’s mobile phone or ID. It also ordered the informant to hand over the original phone to the police.

Notably, the case garnered significant media attention last year, leading to a criminal case against the teacher and her suspension from the job.
