Punjab: Woman dies at Shambhu border as farmers' agitation continues

A woman farmer from Punjab's Tarn Taran lost her life at the Sambhu border in the intervening night between Saturday and Sunday as the agitation by farmers entered its 20th day. According to a report by The Tribune, the woman, identified as Balwinder Kaur, is the 19th farmer to lose her life since the second phase of the Delhi Chalo agitation by farmers began.

The 55-year-old deceased reportedly complained of uneasiness and was rushed to the Civil Hospital, where she breathed her last. The report added that the deceased had joined the agitation at the Shambhu border just three days ago.

Meanwhile, due to the ongoing protest, train services near the site have been affected, forcing Northern Railways to divert trains or cancel schedules.
