CM Mann urges new UPSC officers to embody and promote Punjab’s cultural richness

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Thursday exhorted the newly selected candidates of Union Public Services Commission (UPSC) to lead by example and become the brand ambassadors of the rich culture and heritage of the state across the country.

Interacting with 26 newly selected candidates here at his official residence today, the Chief Minister congratulated the candidates for their resounding success, which he attributed to their hard work, commitment and perseverance. He said that now when these candidates have been selected, they will be allotted cadres and postings as per their merit. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that wherever these candidates should go and get postings they must spread the fragrance of their native state at their workplace.

The Chief Minister said that Punjabis are known for their hard work, resilience and innovative approach adding that these officers must leave an indelible imprint of their state at their workplace. He asked these officers to discharge their duties with utmost dedication, sincerity, honesty and professional commitment. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that with their recruitment, a fresh young blood will be infused in the functioning of administration, which will give impetus to the development of the country.

The Chief Minister expressed hope that these newly appointed officers will certainly take the country to the zenith of its glory. Congratulating the officers for cracking the UPSC Exam successfully, he said that more than 5 lakh aspirants had appeared in the exam out of which 14,627 were selected for mains exam and 2845 were zeroed in for the interview. Finally, Bhagwant Singh Mann said that 1009 candidates have been selected as officers out of which 26 are from the state.

The Chief Minister said that these candidates have been selected on the coveted posts exclusively on their merit and capability as the entire process from the conduct of exam till the appointments was carried out absolutely in a free, fair and transparent manner. Wishing them a promising career and a bright future ahead, Bhagwant Singh Mann asked the officers to serve the society with full enthusiasm and devotion for cherishing their aspirations by implementing the policies and programs of the government in the right earnest. He assured full support and cooperation to the newly recruited officers in the coming times so that they can excel in their service.

On the occasion, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Dr. Ravi Bhagat, Special Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Kumar Amit and others were also present.
