CM Mann vows to fill all vacant Punjabi teacher posts, strengthening education across Punjab

In a move aimed at promoting the Punjabi language and enhancing the quality of education across Punjab, Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann has announced the government’s commitment to fill all vacant posts of Punjabi teachers in government schools. This important step, declared during a Teacher’s Day function in Hoshiarpur, reflects CM Mann's dedication to preserving the cultural heritage of Punjab while advancing its educational system.

Addressing a gathering of educators, the Chief Minister stressed the urgency of encouraging the Punjabi language in schools and reiterated the government's duty to promote the mother tongue of every Punjabi. “The state is duty-bound to promote our glorious language and culture, and we will leave no stone unturned in ensuring this,” CM Mann stated. He urged students to speak and write Punjabi fluently to stay connected with their heritage.

The Chief Minister highlighted that the education department faces a shortage of teachers and other personnel, impacting the learning experience. However, he assured that the government is on the path to revitalizing the education sector by recruiting more staff, including campus managers and sanitary workers.

CM Mann also shared his emotional connection to the teaching fraternity, stating, "As the son of a teacher, I understand the challenges faced by educators. I am committed to addressing these issues, and the state government will ensure every penny of public funds is used judiciously for the welfare of society."

In a historic initiative, the Chief Minister proudly noted the successful organization of the Mega Parent-Teacher Meeting, which saw the participation of 20 lakh parents. This initiative, along with sending teachers to national and international educational institutes to update their skills, highlights the government’s focus on empowering educators.

The transformation in Punjab’s education system is evident, as 158 students from government schools have cleared the prestigious JEE exam for the first time. CM Mann stated that this is just the beginning, with many more achievements to come.

During the event, 77 teachers were felicitated for their outstanding contributions to the education sector, underscoring the importance of teachers as the "Architects of the nation."
