PM Modi to Attend Mahila Sashaktikaran Maha Sammelan in Bhopal

Bhopal, May 30 (PTI) - Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to attend the ‘Mahila Sashaktikaran Maha Sammelan’ in Bhopal on May 31, marking the 300th birth anniversary of Queen Ahilyabai Holkar, a 18th-century icon of the Holkar dynasty revered for her outstanding governance and dedication to social welfare as well as cultural and spiritual contributions. On this significant day for Madhya Pradesh, the event will take place at Jamboori Maidan in Bhopal with the presence of Prime Minister Modi, as confirmed by a senior official.

The Prime Minister is slated to inaugurate and virtually lay the foundation for several key projects. This includes the first installment transfer for 1,271 new Atal Gram Seva Sadan (Panchayat Bhawan) developed at a cost of Rs 483 crore, and the inauguration of the Indore Metro’s Super Priority Corridor. This new six-km corridor is part of the Yellow Line and includes five stations, which aim to offer Indore a modern, pollution-free, and rapid transit option, a first of its kind in Madhya Pradesh.

To commemorate the legacy of Ahilyabai Holkar, Prime Minister Modi will unveil a postage stamp and a commemorative coin. The occasion will honor artists who have made significant contributions to tribal, folk, and traditional arts with the National Devi Ahilyabai Award.

Additionally, Modi is expected to visit an exhibition showcasing the themes of good governance, women empowerment, and Ahilyabai's cultural contributions. Furthermore, the Prime Minister will virtually inaugurate newly constructed airports in Datia and Satna. The Datia airport, a project costing Rs 60 crore, aims to enhance connectivity for the religious city, while the Rs 37 crore Satna airport is set to strengthen tourism, education, health, and industry within the Vindhya region, the official noted.

Also on the agenda is the virtual ‘bhoomi pujan’ for the construction of ghats on the Kshipra river, allocated with a budget of Rs 778.91 crore, as part of preparations for the 2028 ‘Simhastha’ (Kumbh Mela). Additional construction works, totaling over Rs 80 crore, include a barrage, stop dam, and causeway across districts like Dhar, Ujjain, Indore, and Dewas. The expansive project, stretching 29 km from Shani Mandir to the Nagda bypass, aims to ensure a constant flow in the Kshipra and Kanh rivers.

MP Governor Mangubhai Patel and Chief Minister Mohan Yadav are also expected to join the events.
