MP CM Mohan Yadav visits flood-hit Pachawali, assures relief and timely compensation

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav on Monday visited flood-affected Pachawali village in Shivpuri district to assess the damage caused by recent heavy rainfall and rising water levels.

During his visit, he interacted with affected families, reviewed relief efforts on the ground, and distributed financial assistance for damaged homes and food supplies.

Accompanying him were Union Minister Shri Jyotiraditya Scindia, Shivpuri MLA Shri Devendra Jain, Kolaras MLA Shri Mahendra Singh Yadav, former MLA Shri Prahlad Bharti, and key administrative officials including Collector Shri Ravindra Kumar Chaudhary, Superintendent of Police Shri Aman Singh Rathore, and District Panchayat CEO Shri Himanshu Jain.

CM Dr. Yadav assured the people that the government is fully committed to supporting those impacted by the disaster. “The government’s foremost responsibility is to ensure the safety of every citizen,” he said. He added that relief funds for damages to homes, loss of livestock, or crop destruction will be directly deposited into the affected families’ bank accounts.

“This visit is to understand the pain and suffering of the flood-affected, and assure them that the government is with them in every possible way,” Dr. Yadav said. Emphasising resilience, he noted, “The crisis brought on by excessive rainfall is a test of resilience. With public cooperation and dedicated administrative efforts, the situation is being brought under control.” He also reaffirmed that ongoing relief work will continue with full commitment and close monitoring. He personally consoled the victims and urged them not to worry, stating that the administration stands firmly with them.

Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia echoed the Chief Minister’s message of support. “We stand with the affected citizens in every moment of joy and sorrow. Every possible assistance will be ensured during this crisis,” he said.

Highlighting the scale of the disaster, Scindia stated that “this year’s rainfall has far exceeded the average, leading to the overflowing of the Sindh River, which submerged 32 villages including Pachawali.” He noted that two helicopters were dispatched from Gwalior for rescue operations but were unable to reach due to adverse weather conditions.

Despite these challenges, coordinated efforts led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and CM Dr. Mohan Yadav helped rescue around 400 people and provide immediate financial relief. Scindia also noted the significant damage to maize and soybean crops and added that the Chief Minister has directed officials to ensure “timely compensation for the affected farmers.”
