Madhya Pradesh to recruit 22,500 police personnel ahead of Simhastha 2028

Chief Minister Mohan Yadav announced 22,500 new police posts in Madhya Pradesh over the next three years, with a new Police Recruitment Board to ensure faster and transparent hiring.

Madhya Pradesh to recruit 22,500 police personnel ahead of Simhastha 2028

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav on Tuesday announced the creation of 22,500 new posts in the state police department over the next three years.

The decision, he said, was taken keeping in view the state’s law and order requirements and preparations for Simhastha-2028.

Until now, police recruitment was conducted through the Staff Selection Board. To ensure faster availability of human resources, the state government will now set up a dedicated Madhya Pradesh Police Recruitment Board, which will exclusively handle the recruitment process. The chief minister said the move would bring “greater speed, transparency, and efficiency” to police appointments.

Dr. Yadav informed that recruitment for the sanctioned posts in 2025 would be conducted by the Staff Selection Board on behalf of the newly constituted Police Recruitment Board. From 2026 onwards, the Board itself will directly manage the process. “Every year, 7,500 posts will be filled, ensuring that all 22,500 positions are covered within the next three years,” he said.

To further strengthen the Home Department, Dr. Yadav said a joint meeting of the Home and Finance Departments would soon be convened to resolve all pending matters related to modernisation and recruitment.

The chief minister also announced a special welfare measure for families of martyrs, stating that one additional seat in all graduate-level courses under priority categories would be reserved for the widows and children of personnel from police, jail, Nagar Seva, and security services. In addition, special and risk allowances will be granted, as per eligibility, to Deputy Superintendents of Police, senior officers, and security personnel deployed on VVIP duty.

According to the government, these measures are expected to boost the morale of officers and personnel, improve law and order, and ensure enhanced security for the people of Madhya Pradesh.
