Chandigarh: class 7 girl sexually assaulted by 5 boys repeatedly at different locations

In a shocking incident, a class 7 student was allegedly raped multiple times by 5 boys from the same school in Chandigarh, reports said.

One of the accused was her classmate while others studied in Class 9 of a government model school in the city, it added.

As per a Hindustan Times report, the case was registered on May 8 but the Police kept the matter under wraps due to the sensitivity of the matter.

Citing Police sources, the publication said that the victim was accused of theft and she was blackmailed by the boys to remain tight-lipped.

Furthermore, one of the boys told his friends about the ghastly act who then took turns to rape the girl.

All five accused have been booked under Sections 376 AB(committing rape on a woman under 12 years of age) along with Section 4 (Punishment for penetrative sexual assault) and 6 (aggravated penetrative sexual assault) of the POCSO Act.
