Sony expands Bravia Theatre lineup with flagship Bravia Theatre Trio in India

Sony has unveiled its new Bravia Theatre lineup in India, led by the flagship Bravia Theatre Trio, alongside new soundbars, wireless subwoofers and rear speakers with Dolby Atmos support.

Sony expands Bravia Theatre lineup with flagship Bravia Theatre Trio in India

Sony has expanded its premium home audio portfolio in India with the launch of a new Bravia Theatre lineup, headlined by the flagship Bravia Theatre Trio wireless home theatre system. Alongside it, the company has introduced the Bravia Theatre Bar 7, Bravia Theatre Bar 5, Bravia Theatre Sub 9, Bravia Theatre Sub 8, and the Bravia Theatre Rear 9 and Rear 8 speakers.

The new range is designed to complement Sony's Bravia televisions and deliver a more immersive home cinema experience through Dolby Atmos, DTS support and Sony's proprietary spatial audio technologies. While the first products go on sale from July 1, the broader lineup will roll out in phases through August.

Sony Bravia Theatre Trio and soundbars

Leading the new portfolio is the Bravia Theatre Trio, Sony's flagship wireless home theatre system aimed at large-screen televisions. Instead of relying on a traditional soundbar design, the Trio uses separate left, centre and right speakers to create a wider soundstage and more accurate dialogue reproduction. When paired with compatible rear speakers and a subwoofer, the system can generate up to 24 virtual phantom speakers for a more cinema-like surround experience.

Sony has also introduced two new soundbars. The Bravia Theatre Bar 7 targets premium buyers with nine speaker units, including up-firing and side-firing drivers, along with support for Dolby Atmos, IMAX Enhanced and the company's 360 Spatial Sound Mapping technology.

The more affordable Bravia Theatre Bar 5 features a 3.1-channel setup with a wireless subwoofer included in the box. It also supports Dolby Atmos and DTS:X, while Voice Zoom 3 and a dedicated centre speaker are designed to improve dialogue clarity during movies and TV shows.

Wireless subwoofers and rear speakers

To expand the home theatre ecosystem, Sony has also launched two wireless subwoofers and two wireless rear speaker options.

The Bravia Theatre Sub 9 is the company's flagship subwoofer, offering a 600W amplifier and dual opposing drivers for deeper, more controlled bass. Sitting below it is the Bravia Theatre Sub 8, which delivers 300W output while retaining wireless connectivity and seamless integration with compatible Bravia products.

Completing the lineup are the Bravia Theatre Rear 9 and Rear 8 wireless speakers. Both are designed to add greater surround sound immersion and can be paired with compatible Bravia Theatre systems for a more expansive audio experience.

Pricing and availability

Sony has also introduced Bravia Direct Connect, a new feature that allows compatible Bravia televisions to connect directly to supported subwoofers and rear speakers without requiring a soundbar. This gives users greater flexibility to build or upgrade their home theatre setup over time.

The Bravia Theatre Trio is priced at Rs 2,39,990 (best-buy price Rs 1,69,990), while the Bravia Theatre Bar 7 costs Rs 99,990. The Bravia Theatre Bar 5 is priced at Rs 37,990, with the remaining accessories ranging from Rs 42,990 for the Sub 8 to Rs 94,990 for the flagship Sub 9. The first wave of products will be available in India starting July 1, with additional models arriving through August.
