‘Wednesday’ Season 2 1st look out: Jenna Ortega returns, several new cast members announced

Netflix has officially renewed Jenna Ortega starrer ‘Wednesday’ for a second season. Director Tim Burton announced the news on May 7 via Netflix's social media, mentioning that production has already started.

Burton also posted a photo from the set, showcasing both returning and new cast members.

Jenna will not only reprise her role as the lead but will also serve as a producer for the upcoming season. Additionally, a video featuring the character Thing was shared alongside the announcement.

In the video, Thing carried the script of season 2 and handed it over to Wednesday. The cover of the script read: ‘Wednesday, season 2. Chapter one: Here We Woe Again.’

The first episode will be written by Alfred Gough and Miles Millar, and directed by Tim Horton.

Netflix shared the picture with the caption, ‘Wednesday Season 2 is NOW IN PRODUCTION Please give a round of double snaps to our cast — now including Christopher Lloyd, Steve Buscemi, Thandiwe Newton, Joanna Lumley, Haley Joel Osment, Heather Matarazzo, and Billie Piper!’

According to reports from Variety and Deadline, Jenna Ortega, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Luis Guzmán, Isaac Ordonez, and Luyanda Unati Lewis-Nyawo will be reprising their roles for ‘Wednesday’ season 2. However, three actors from the first season will not be returning: Percy Hynes White, Jamie McShane, and Naomi J Ogawa.

Percy Hynes White portrayed Xavier Thorpe in the series.

In the upcoming season of ‘Wednesday,’ the roles of new cast members Billie Piper, Evie Templeton, Owen Painter, and Noah Taylor have not been disclosed yet.

Steve Buscemi is also set to make an appearance on the show.
Al Gough and Miles Millar, the series creators and showrunners, expressed their excitement, stating, ‘We are thrilled that the entire Addams family will be enrolling in Nevermore Academy this season along with a dream cast of icons and new faces.’

The first season of ‘Wednesday’ was highly successful.
