'Citadel Honey Bunny' is one of the most-anticipated series. The show, helmed by Raj & DK, marks Varun Dhawan's OTT debut and stars Samantha Ruth Prabhu in the leading role. 'Citadel Honey Bunny' is the Indian spin-off of the Russo Brothers' multi-series 'Citadel'. The Indian makers have now shared a post, seemingly hinting at the release date of the much-anticipated spy thriller.

'Citadel: Honey Bunny' release date out

Raj & DK dropped an Instagram post with the digits reading "01.08" The makers refrained from sharing further details but dropped honey and rabbit emojis in the caption. It didn't take netizens to connect the dots and realise that the post is related to their upcoming show, 'Citadel: Honey Bunny'. Apart from Varun and Samantha, the forthcoming show also stars Kay Kay Menon, Simran, Soham Majumdar, Shivankit Singh Parihar, Kashvi Majmundar, Saqib Saleem, and Sikandar Kher in pivotal roles.

Talking about being part of the show, Samantha at an event earlier said, “I never would have imagined that I would do action. But today, for me, being at this event is already such a victory for me, because the last moment I didn’t really think I could do it. I didn’t think I would be a part of citadel. I’m extremely grateful to Raj, DK, Sita and Amazon for really coming to my rescue. I just had to prep physically. I am just so incredibly proud already that this is the way it is, this is the way it looks. I can’t believe – this is how it looks.”

      More about 'Citadel Honey Bunny'

As per makers, the Indian Citadel is to be woven around the narrative that “fuses the pulse-pounding elements of a gritty spy action thriller with the heartwarming allure of a love story, all set against the vibrant tapestry of the 90s”.

Originally developed by Anthony and Joe Russo, Citadel first aired its American version featuring Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Richard Madden. It will premiere on Amazon Prime Videos.
