‘Call Me Bae’: Karan Johar ropes in Vir Das to star alongside Ananya Pandey and Gurfateh Pirzada

Actor-comedian Vir Das will star alongside Ananya Pandey and Gurfateh Pirzada in the web series ‘Call Me Bae’, backed by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions’ digital banner Dharmatics.

The series will premiere in India exclusively on Prime Video.

‘Call Me Bae’ is created by Ishita Moitra who has also co-written the series with Samina Motlekar and Rohit Nair.

Ananya Panday plays the role of Bae, a billionaire fashionista, in the web series. She is disowned by her ultra-rich family owing to a salacious scandal, following which she has to fend for herself, for the first time ever.

On this journey, she overcomes stereotypes, negotiates around prejudices, and discovers who she really is, the official synopsis reads.

Collin D'Cunha has directed the series and it is executive produced by Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta and Somen Mishra.

The team has finished the shooting for ‘Call Me Bae’ and the show is expected to premiere by the end of 2023.

Vir Das has recently announced Mind Fool India tour and he will visit 33 countries and 35 Indian cities. The tour will begin in September.

On the other hand, Ananya Panday recently made a cameo in Karan Johar’s ‘Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani’.
