Actor Chiranjeevi has issued a clarification after several reports claimed that he was diagnosed with cancer and got cured after treatment.
On Saturday night, Chiranjeevi wrote a lengthy message on Twitter explaining that the reports surfaced after he spoke about the importance of spreading cancer awareness.
Chiranjeevi clarified in his statement that he had previously undergone a test in which &lsquo;non-cancerous polyps were detected and removed.&rsquo; He further stated that he had predicted that the polyps &lsquo;would have turned out to be cancer&rsquo; if they hadn't been removed.
According to Chiranjeevi, the fact that he was misquoted in several reports caused &lsquo;unnecessary confusion.&rsquo;
He further added, &lsquo;However, some media outlets did not fully comprehend this and began publishing web articles saying, 'I got cancer' and 'I survived due to treatment. This has brought about needless confusion. My health is the subject of many well-wishers' messages. This explanation applies to each of them. A warning to such journalists is also in order: don't write nonsense without researching the topic. Many people are scared and hurt because of this.&rsquo;&nbsp;
 Numerous admirers cheered the actor on and expressed gratitude for his health.
It's comforting to know that prevention has kept everything safe. Many people can benefit from this information,&rsquo; someone said.

Los Angeles, Jun 3 (PTI) Indian American model and author Padma Lakshmi has announced that she will be exiting the long-running cooking show "Top Chef".
In a statement posted on social media, Lakshmi said "Top Chef" season 20 will be her last run with the beloved cooking competition series, which airs on NBC's Bravo cable network.
"After much soul searching, I have made the difficult decision to leave 'Top Chef,'" the host, cookbook author and former model wrote.
"Having completed a glorious 20th season as host and executive producer, I am extremely proud to have been part of building such a successful show and of the impact it has had in the worlds of television and food,&rdquo; she added.
Lakshmi, who started hosting "Top Chef" from season two onwards in 2006, said she will miss working with the cast and crew who are like a family to her.
"I will miss working alongside them dearly. I feel it&rsquo;s time to move on and need to make space for Taste the Nation, my books and other creative pursuits," she said, referring to her new Hulu show.
"I am deeply thankful to all of you for so many years of love and support,&rdquo; she added.
Lakshmi's Hulu series "Taste the Nation" sees her travelling around the US to enjoy different regional cuisines. The show's second season was released on May 5.
A spokesperson of NBCUniversal said Lakshmi leaves behind an incredible legacy with her work on "Top Chef".
"Her impact on the Emmy, James Beard and Critics&rsquo; Choice Award-winning series is undeniable. We are grateful to Padma for being a consummate host, judge and executive producer, and for bringing her ingenuity and exceptional palate to each episode where she ate every bite of food on the series for over 17 years and 19 seasons.
"She will always be part of the Top Chef and the NBCUniversal family and has a seat at the judges&rsquo; table anytime,&rdquo; the spokesperson added.

Veteran playback singer Vani Jairam was found dead at her residence in Chennai on February 4. She was 78. The cause of her death is still unknown. The news of her demise has sent shockwaves across the country.
Vani was awarded Padma Bhushan by the Government of India ahead of Republic Day 2023. Vani Jairam, who hailed from a family of classically trained musicians, became a playback singer in 1971 and went on to sing for over five decades.
Known for recording over 10,000 songs in her career, Vani sang in over 19 languages and won National Film Awards and state government awards. Her big break came with Guddi in 1971. She has worked with many legendary composers, including MS Vishwanathan, KV Mahadevan, Chakravarthy, Ilaiyaraaja, and Sathyam, among others.

The bride is reportedly a techie from the USA. Her father, Madhusudhan Reddy, is a lawyer in Andhra Pradesh High Court, while her grandfather is politician Bojjala Gopala Krishna Reddy.
On the work front, Sharwanand is busy shooting for his 35th film, which is being directed by Sriram Adittya.

Naseeruddin Shah on using Filmfare awards for door handles in his farmhouse: 'I started leaving them behind'

'I did not even go collect the last two awards I received,' Naseeruddin Shah opens up on his indifference towards awards.

Naseeruddin Shah has opened up on using his Filmfare awards to craft door handles for his farmhouse. He said that he does&rsquo;t find any value in these trophies.

Naseeruddin Shah has recently opened up on his how his trophies don&rsquo;t mean anything to him now. When he was asked about using his awards to make door handles for his farmhouse near Mumbai, the actor could not help but laugh and agree to it.&nbsp;
&lsquo;I don&rsquo;t find any value in these trophies. I was happy when I received the initial ones. But then, trophies started piling up around me. Sooner or later I understood that these awards are a result of lobbying. One is receiving these awards not necessarily because of their merit. So I started leaving them behind. After that, when I received Padma Shri and Padma Bhushan, it reminded me of my deceased father who used to always be worried about my job and said things like &lsquo;if you do this useless work, you will become a fool&rsquo;. So, when I went to Rashtrapati Bhavan to collect the awards, I looked up and asked my dad if he was seeing all this&hellip; He was&hellip; and I am sure he was happy&hellip; I was happy to receive those awards. But I can&rsquo;t stand these competitive awards,&rsquo; he said.&nbsp;
He further added, &lsquo;Any actor who has put their life and effort into portraying a role is a good actor. If you just pick one person from the lot and say that &lsquo;this is the best actor of the year&rsquo;, how&rsquo;s it fair? I am not proud of those awards. I did not even go collect the last two awards I received. So, when I built a farmhouse I decided to put these awards there. Whoever goes to the washroom will get two awards each as the handles are made of the Filmfare awards.'

Actor Shah Rukh Khan's love story with his now wife Gauri Khan wasn't all rosy. He initially faced opposition from Gauri, her family and then some religious institutions.&nbsp;
In an interview with BBC, SRK had shared that if he had been in place of Gauri's parents, he would have not let his daughter get married to someone like him.&nbsp;
'Now I look ok, I wear a suit and my hair is combed back. But at that time, I had hair all over here (pointing towards his forehead) and I was from a different religion. I wanted to be an actor. So, with this combination, if somebody came up to me and if I had a daughter and they said, &lsquo;See my head is like this, I am from a different religion, and I want to be a film star&rsquo;, I would say, &lsquo;Just pack your bags and get out of the house before I kick you out&rsquo;. So, I think they were completely right in not wanting their daughter to marry me,&rsquo; he said.&nbsp;
After Gauri's parents gave a go ahead to their marriage, Shah Rukh had protests outside of the house. Fortunately, the actor didn't have a house in his name, so he had given his friend's address. Instead of throwing stones at him, they were throwing stones at his friend's house.&nbsp;

Instead of throwing stones at me, they were throwing stones at him. My friend Sanjay was calling me saying, &lsquo;They are throwing stones at my house&rsquo;. That happened. So, we had to keep it (their marriage) a little under the wrap and get it done,&rsquo; SRK said.&nbsp;
Shah Rukh and Gauri got married on 25th October 1991. The couple is parents to three kids, Aryan, Suhana and AbRam.&nbsp;
