Veteran Telugu actor Kaikala Satyanarayana worked in over 750 films in a career spanning over five decades. He was popular as a hero, villain as well as a character artist.

Veteran Telugu actor Kaikala Satyanarayana dies; Chiranjeevi, Ram Charan offer condolences

Telugu veteran actor Kaikala Satyanarayana died at the age of 87 at his Hyderabad residence on Friday morning. He was suffering from old-age related illness.

Many film celebrities expressed their condolences on death of the veteran actor on social media. Ram Charan tweeted, ‘Deeply saddened to hear the demise of Kaikala Satyanarayana Garu.. His contribution to our film industry will be remembered forever! May his soul rest in peace (sic).’

Sharing a note in Telugu, Chiranjeevi wrote, ‘Rest in peace Navarasa Natana Sarvabhouma. Sri Kaikala Satyanarayana garu (sic).’ The superstar had visited Sathyanarayan’s home in July to wish him on his birthday.

Filmmaker Anil Ravipudi tweeted, ‘Saddened to hear about the passing away of legendary actor Kaikala Satyanarayana garu. He was one of the rarest acting personalities who can breathe life into any character. May his family find peace & strength in this hour of grief! Om shanti (sic).’

Satyanarayana worked in over 750 films in a career spanning over five decades. He was popular as a hero, villain as well as a character artist.

Satyanarayan also owned production house Rama Films production that backed projects like ‘Kodama Simham’, ‘Bangaru Kutumbam’, and ‘Muddula Mogudu’.

He was the recipient of several awards including the 2017 Filmfare Lifetime Achievement Award for his contribution Telugu cinema and Andhra Pradesh government's Nandi film Award.

Sathyanarayan is survived by his wife, two daughters and two sons.
