Samantha Ruth Prabhu reveals she has been diagnosed with autoimmune condition Myositis

Actor Samantha Ruth Prabhu took to Instagram on Saturday and informed her fans that she has been diagnosed with Myositis, an autoimmune condition. She shared a photo in which was seen seated on a couch with an IV drip connected to her wrist. Samantha didn't reveal her face, but she made a heart symbol with her hands.

In her post she wrote that she is overwhelmed with the response to ‘Yashodha’ trailer. She said it is the love and connection that she shares with her fans, that gives her the strength to deal with the seemingly unending challenges that life throws at her.

She mentioned that she was diagnosed with an autoimmune condition called Myositis a few months ago, and she was hoping to share this after it had gone into remission. However, it is taking a little longer than she hoped.

Samantha added, ‘I am slowly realising that we don’t always need to put up a strong front. Accepting this vulnerability is something that I am still struggling with. The doctors are confident that I will make a complete recovery very soon. I have had good days and bad days…. physically and emotionally…. and even when it feels like I can’t handle one more day of this, somehow that moment passes. I guess it can only mean that I am one more day closer to recovery. I love you.. (black heart emoji). THIS TOO SHALL PASS.’

Her concerned fans and many celebrities sent her lots of love and strength in the comments sections. Raj & DK commented, ‘Welcome back Sam!!’, while Shriya Saran wrote, ‘Love and light to you, you are amazing always.’

Previously, there were reports that Samantha went abroad for her treatment as she was unwell.
The trailer of her forthcoming film ‘Yashoda’ released on October 27.

Samantha stars as surrogate mother Yashoda in the movie, who tries to unfold the secrets of a serious medical crime with courage. Directed by Hari and Harish, ‘Yashoda’ will release on November 11.

Following this, she will be seen in the romantic drama ‘Khusi’ alongside Vijay Deverakonda, which will release in theatres on December 23.
