'Ponniyin Selvan': Aishwarya Rai Bachchan looks magnificent as Nandini in Mani Ratnam's film poster

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is all set to return to the big screen with director Mani Ratnam's 'Ponniyin Selvan.' The makers of the film unveiled the first look poster of Aishwarya on Wednesday introducing her as Nandini, the Queen of Pazhuvoor. Sharing the poster, Lyca Productions wrote, 'Vengeance has a beautiful face!'

Nandini is the wife of Periya Pazhuvettaraiyar, portrayed by Sarathkumar., who conspires to the downfall of the Chola dynasty. The actor will also feature Mandakini Devi, mother of Nandini in the film.

The first part of Ponniyin Selvan will release in theatres on September 30.

Earlier, the first-look posters of Chiyaan Vikram and Karthi were unveiled. They play Aditya Karikalan and Vanthiyathevan, respectively.

'Ponniyin Selvan' also stars Trisha, Jayam Ravi, Prakash Raj, Sarathkumar, Aishwarya Lekshmi, and Sobhita Dhulipala. The music for the film has been composed by A R Rahman. The historical drama is based on Kalki Krishnamurthy’s 1995 novel of the same name.
