Thalapathy Vijay’s forthcoming film ‘Leo’ has been granted U/A certificate by the Censor Board of Film Certification but with 13 changes.

The Censor Board has reportedly asked director Lokesh Kanagaraj to mute the swear words in the film and make amends for the gore scenes. Following the changes and cuts, ‘Leo’ will have a run time of 164 minutes (2 hours 44 minutes).

‘Leo’ is a part of his ‘Lokesh Cinematic Universe’. The film is slated to release in theatres on October 19.

The action thriller also stars Trisha Krishnan, Arjun Sarja, Gautham Menon, Mysskin and Priya Anand in pivotal roles. The film also features Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt.

Script for ‘Leo’ has been written by Rathna Kumar and Deeraj Vaidy along with Lokesh Kanagaraj.

The music for the film is composed by Anirudh Ravichander and its cinematography and editing have been handled by Manoj Paramahamsa and Philomin Raj, respectively.

The trailer of Leo was released on October 5 and it sent the internet into a frenzy.

      About the film

The film revolves around a ‘mild-mannered’ cafe owner who becomes a local hero through an act of violence. However, he soon starts to face repercussions in connection to his past life. Not only do we see Vijay’s past life haunting him in the movie, but we also see a vicious Sanjay Dutt as the villain.

      Collaborations

The trailer also features Trisha, who is reuniting with Vijay after almost two decades. They last featured together in Ghilli.

Gautam Vasudev Menon will be playing the cop in the movie.

‘Leo’ marks the second collaboration between Lokesh Kanagaraj and Vijay after the blockbuster ‘Master’ that was released in 2021.
