Director Karthik Subbaraj, who directed the critically acclaimed film ‘Jigarthanda DoubleX’, was thrilled when Hollywood icon Clint Eastwood showed interest in watching his latest film.

‘Jigarthanda DoubleX’, which is a sequel to Subbaraj’s acclaimed film ‘Jigarthanda’, pays homage to Eastwood, Satyajit Ray, and Rajinikanth.

A fan initiated the interaction by tagging Clint Eastwood’s official X account (formerly Twitter), urging him to watch the film on Netflix, highlighting its tribute to the Hollywood legend.

Responding to the fan’s plea, the filmmaker’s team conveyed Eastwood’s awareness and commitment to viewing the film post the completion of his new project, ‘Juror 2’.

Replying to the fan, the filmmaker’s team wrote on X, ‘Hi. Clint is aware of this Movie and he states he will get to it upon Completion of his New Film. Juror 2. Thank You.’

When Karthik Subbaraj learnt about this exchange, he expressed his ‘surreal’ joy on X, and wrote, ‘Wowww….. Feeling So Surreal!! Raghava Lawrence and SJ Suryah, who play lead roles in ‘Jigarthanda Double X’, also took to X to thank the Hollywood star for acknowledging their film.

‘Jigarthanda Double X’ is a meta film that concludes with a thought-provoking question directed at those in power who exploit natural resources and innocent lives. The movie also stars Nimisha Sajayan, Shine Tom Chacko, Naveen Chandra, and Ilavarasu in pivotal roles.
