‘Kalki 2898 AD’ trailer: Mythology meets technology in Prabhas-Deepika starrer dystopian thriller, watch

The trailer of Prabhas and Deepika Padukone starrer ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ is finally here. The film, which has been in making for four years now, has intrigued fans ever since its announcement. The exciting trailer offers a glimpse into the dystopian future where mythology meets technology. Featuring high-octane action sequences, the visual spectacle loosely reimagines some iconic characters of the Hindu epic, Mahabharata, from a futuristic lens.

The trailer transports us to the world of Kashi, India's first and last city, which is desperately in need of a saviour as an evil ruler continues to harass its people. To stop the manslaughter, philosophers yearn for a beacon of hope. Amitabh Bachchan's Ashwatthama then predicts a new force of power is present in the womb of Padma, played by Deepika Padukone.

Perplexed by the prediction, Padma finds herself questioning many things until she meets the protagonist Bhairava (Prabhas). Amitabh and Prabhas then indulge in an epic battle, performing some high-octane action sequences. Disha Patani and Kamal Haasan also feature in power-packed avatars.

‘Kalki 2898 AD' advance booking in USA

The advance booking of the mythological sci-fi drama has begun, almost two weeks before the film's release. The film has minted nearly Rs 4 crore in USA and Canada. The advance booking in India will open on June 15, 2024. In a historic achievement, the Prabhas starrer has become the first film to cross $500 K in North America even before the full-fledged bookings, as per the makers.

Helmed by Nag Ashwin, the mythological sci-fi drama is produced by Vyjayanthi Movies and will be released on June 27, 2024, in the Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada and English languages.
