'Kalki 2898 AD' box office collection day 2: After excellent opening, Prabhas' film suffers major drop

Nag Ashwin's 'Kalki 2898 AD' failed to recreate its opening day magic on day 2 at the ticket window, witnessing a major drop of 43.3 per cent on Friday. The dystopian science-fiction epic starring Prabhas, Deepika Padukone and Amitabh Bachchan scripted history on Thursday when it registered the highest opening of Indian cinema so far (domestically). The film managed to mint over Rs 95 cr on opening day.

'Kalki 2898 AD' Day 2 box office collection

On Friday, the film collected ₹ 54 crore, per industry tracker Sacnilk. The film's India net collection is ₹ 149.3 crore. Breaking down the film's collection division-wise, the report mentioned that the Telugu version collected ₹ 25.65 crore, and the Tamil version earned ₹ 3.5 crore. The Hindi dub collected ₹ 22.5 crore, while the Kannada and Malayalam versions garnered ₹ 0.35 crore and ₹ 2 crore, respectively.
