'Baahubali' producer Shobu Yarlagadda slams Resul Pookutty for calling 'RRR' a 'gay love story'

Resul Pookutty, the Oscar-winning sound designer, came under fire recently for calling S S Rajamouli's 'RRR' a 'gay love story' in his tweet. Now, 'Baahubali' producer Shobu Yarlagadda has lashed out at Resul on Twitter and said that his comments are 'extremely disappointing.'

'I don't think @RRRMovie is a gay love story as you say but even if it was, is "gay love story" a bad thing? How can you justify using this. Extremely disappointed that someone of your accomplishments can stoop so low! (sic),' he wrote.

Resul was quick to respond to Shobu's tweet and asked him not to take his comments 'seriously' as he meant no offense to any stakeholders.

'Agree totally. Absolutely nothing wrong even if it was. I merely quoted2 my frnd,d banter that already exists in public domain ¬hing else. There is no stooping factor in this.U don’t have2 take it seriously Shobu,I didn’t mean any offense2 any stake holders.I rest my case here! (sic),' he replied on Shobhu's tweet.

'RRR,' which stars Ram Charan and Jr NTR in lead roles, released on March 25 and garnered positive reviews. It is the third movie in the history of Indian cinema to have crossed ₹1000 crore box office collection worldwide. The film also stars Alia Bhatt, Ajay Devgn, and Shriya Saran in pivotal roles.

After a successful theatrical run, the 'RRR' is currently streaming OTT platforms Zee5 and Netflix.
