Shammi Kapoor’s son Aditya Raj Kapoor earns a graduate degree in philosophy at 67

Late actors Shammi Kapoor and Geeta Bali’s son Aditya Raj Kapoor earned a graduate degree in Philosophy via correspondence at the age of 67. Sharing the news, he credited his daughter Tulsi for pushing him to pursue his studies.

Aditya said that he had the opportunity to study, but he never took advantage of any of them.

He revealed that he started studying at the age of 61 and he chose Philosophy, as he was spiritually inclined towards it. He said that his daughter Tulsi saw him as a retired man who had a lot of time on his hands, and that’s why pushed him to pursue an online course from the Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU).

In a chat with ETimes, Aditya shared that he finished his graduation with 59.67% marks and added that he has now enrolled in Master’s program as well.

He said he did this for his mother Geeta Bali.

Aditya tried his hand at acting, but did not pursue it as a career.

In an earlier chat with IANS, he said, ‘My father was very supportive of my decision. I have always tried to do something different in life and Shammiji always stood beside me,’

Aditya was nine years old when his mother Geeta Bali passed away. He grew up with Shammi Kapoor and his second wife Neila Devi.

In an interview with The Times of India, Aditya said, ‘She decided to not have any children of her own. How many women would do that.'
