Prime Video, Excel Entertainment's 'Andhera' Debut

New Delhi, Aug 6 (PTI) - Prime Video and Excel Entertainment are collaborating on a new supernatural horror series titled "Andhera." The show will consist of eight episodes and is penned by Gaurav Desai, Raaghav Dar, Chintan Sarda, and Karan Anshuman, with Raaghav Dar taking on the directorial role.

The series stars Priya Bapat, Karanvir Malhotra, Prajakta Koli, and Surveen Chawla. Set against the backdrop of Mumbai, this gripping investigative drama blends chilling supernatural elements. It follows the tale of a fearless cop and a haunted medical student as they confront a menacing darkness to thwart an impending catastrophe.

Nikhil Madhok, director & head of originals at Prime Video, expressed excitement about delving into the horror genre. He noted, "With 'Andhera', we aim to strengthen this further and introduce audiences to a story that is deeply intriguing yet has an emotionally powerful theme. Replete with twists and turns, the gripping drama offers an experience that is intense, immersive, and thought-provoking."

Creator Gaurav Desai described the making of the series as "a fulfilling experience." The production is helmed by Ritesh Sidhwani, Farhan Akhtar, Kassim Jagmagia, Vishal Ramchandani, Mohit Shah, and Karan Anshuman under the Excel Entertainment banner. "Andhera" is set to make its global debut on August 14, reaching audiences in 240 countries.

The series will also feature pivotal performances by Vatsal Sheth, Parvin Dabas, and Pranay Pachauri.
