Actor Kim Soo Hyun's father Kim Chung Hoon has tied the knot with his girlfriend. The 'Queen of Tears' star refrained from attending the wedding, as the couple wanted a quiet ceremony. The singer's agency has now released a statement.

Kim Soo Hyun's father, Kim Chung Hoon, got married this weekend. According to the singer's agency, Chung Hoon held a private wedding ceremony on April 13 at his home in Gangnam, Seoul. Since the couple wanted a quiet ceremony, Kim Soo Hyn sought understanding from his father and did not attend the wedding to avoid burdening them.

Kim Chung Hoon's close singer friends were in attendance at the wedding. Veteran trot singer Kim Bum Ryong sang the congratulatory song, while broadcaster Jo Young Gu hosted the event.

Kim Chung Hoon was a well-renowned artist in the 80s. He made his trot solo debut in 2009 after serving as lead vocalist for the rock group Seven Dolphins. He is well-known for being the father of Kim Soo Hyun and Kim Ju Na, the singer who is half-sister of the actress.

Kim Soo Hyun's relationship with his father

Kim Soo Hyun and his father are reportedly not close. According to an All K-pop report, following the parents' divorce, Kim Choong Hoon was very absent from Kim Soo Hyun's life. However, he tried to reach out to the 'It's Okay to Not Be Okay' actor after his discharge from his mandatory military service.

During his appearance on the 'Choi Ilgu's Hurricane', Choong Hoon talked about reuniting with his son. He said that he was "going to go visit but my son said it would be crowded and not to come. I had plans too so I haven't seen him yet but I plan to meet him and eat a meal with him."
