The superhit K-drama ‘Queen of Tears,’ starring Kim Soo Hyun and Kim Ji Won, will air two additional episodes after the finale. These special episodes aim to provide viewers with a unique experience, unlike typical highlight reels, taking advantage of the drama's immense popularity.

The tvN rom-com, starring Kim Soo Hyun and Kim Ji Won, kicked off its second half with a bang, becoming the most-watched show domestically and securing the number one position on global Netflix.

'The Queen of Tears' will conclude its regular run on April 28, KST, followed by two new episodes on May 4 and 5. While the format and cast for these specials are still unknown, there is speculation that the ending may be a cliffhanger or open-ended. ‘Queen of Tears’ sets record

Recently, it was revealed that the K-drama starring Kim Soo Hyun and Kim Ji Won has become the third highest-rated show in tvN's history, surpassing the classic K-drama ‘Reply 1988.’

‘Reply 1988,’ which aired in 2015, featured well-known figures in the industry like Lee Hyeri, Park Bo Gum, and Ryu Jun Yeol. The top two spots are held by ‘Goblin’ and ‘Crash Landing On You,’ the only two K-dramas to have surpassed the 20 percent ratings mark.

The plot of ‘Queen of Tears’

The K-drama depicts the story of Baek Hyun Woo and Hong Hae In, a married couple going through marriage burnout after three years together. Hyun Woo, emotionally strained by Hae In's cold demeanor and her wealthy family's expectations, decides to seek a divorce. However, he regrets his choice upon discovering Hae In's terminal illness. The series follows their journey of rekindling love after experiencing relationship burnout.

‘Queen of Tears’ premiered on March 9 and is available for streaming on Netflix, with new episodes airing every Saturday and Sunday.

The series is written by Park Ji Eun, known for her work on ‘Crash Landing on You,’ ‘The Legend of the Blue Sea,’ and ‘My Love From the Star.’

Kim Hee Won, director of ‘Vincenzo’ and ‘Crowned Clown,’ and Jang Young Woo, known for ‘Bulgasal’ and ‘Entourage,’ have directed the series.
