NewJeans receives death threats ahead of Japan concert, ADOR prepares for enhanced safety measures

In a shocking turn of events, the K-pop girl group, NewJeans, received a death threat ahead of their concert in Japan. On Monday, a post was made online featuring a photo of a knife with the caption suggesting that it would be used to attack NewJeans, sending chills across the girl group's fans. ADOR, NewJeans' agency, has now addressed the untoward account with a statement.

Threat to NewJeans' security

On June 24, NewJeans, the budding girl group under HYBE Corporation, faced a harrowing incident ahead of their Japan concert. According to K-media reports, an individual entered the concert venue wielding a knife and also shared a post on an online platform. He captioned the photo, "When I get off the NewJeans Van, I will let you go one by one," sparking concern among the group's fans and the K-pop community.

ADOR'S statement

On Tuesday, ADOR, in a statement, said, “Currently, we are preparing enhanced safety measures with the Japanese concert planning company. At the same time, in Korea, the police are investigating, and we are actively participating in the investigation. We are making every effort to ensure that the artists can participate in scheduled activities safely.”

NewJeans will hold their first Japanese fan meeting--Bunnies Camp 2024, at the Tokyo Dome on June 26-27.
