IHeartRadio Awards 2024: Jungkook, V and J-Hope of BTS win big, Taylor Swift bags 5 awards

The 2024 iHeartRadio Music Awards were held on Monday night in Los Angeles. Taylor Swift emerged as the biggest winner with five awards including ‘Artist of the Year’ and ‘Pop Artist of the Year’ at the awards celebrating musical talents from across the world.

Despite their hiatus and military enlistment, BTS members continued to reign as they clinched multiple awards. Jungkook secured two awards with ‘K-pop Artist of the Year’ and ‘Best Music Video for ‘Seven’’. BTS star Kim Taehyung aka V won ‘Favourite Debut Album’ for his solo album, ‘Layover’. Fellow member J-Hope won ‘Favourite On-Screen’ award for his album, ‘J-Hope in the Box’. It wasn’t just the BTS but even their fandom clinched the ‘Best Fan Army’ award beating the likes of Swifties, Harries, ATINY and many other fandoms, proving the boyband’s world domination.

Besides BTS, ‘Stray Kids’ and ‘FIFTY FIFTY’ also marked significant victories at the awards ceremony, showcasing the global popularity of K-pop. ‘Star Kids’ won ‘K-pop Album of the Year award’ for ‘5 Star’ while ‘FIFTY FIFTY’ won ‘K-pop Song of the Year’ award for ‘Cupid (Twin Version)’. Meanwhile, NewJeans won Best New Artist (K-pop) award. The winning groups took to social media to express gratitude towards their devoted fans.

The awards ceremony is hosted by American online radio broadcaster iHeart Radio since 2014, and the awards are presented to the artists and songs most played on broadcasts and apps during the year. Here are some of the major winners from K-pop.
