Ever since BLACKPINK's Lisa dropped a teaser of her comeback single, 'Rockstar,' fans have been in awe of music video's grand scale. Now, it has been revealed that the rapper shut down entire China Town to shoot for the MV. This has left fans gushing over her superstar status, given how big and busy the market usually is. According to K-media reports, Lisa paid a hefty amount to shopkeepers to block the market as she wanted to film an important scene at the world famous location.

Lisa rents out Bangkok's Chinatown

It was a 'Shut Down' in Chinatown as Lisa rented the whole market to shoot for her upcoming track, 'Rockstar'. In the recently released tease, the BLACKPINK supestar can be seen strutting across Yaowarat Road. While the streets of the market, which is a major tourist attraction, are usually busy on an average day, there is not even a soul in sight in Lisa's music video. What surprised fans even more is that Lisa rented the busiest street, but nobody on the internet could ever guess that it was shut down. Netizens were shocked that many people would’ve seen Lisa shooting her video, as it would’ve been a huge thing for Chinatown to be blocked off, but they all kept her secret. Reports have suggested that Lisa paid 20,000 Baht (over Rs 45,000) to every shop owner to keep their business shut for a few hours.

Lisa announces solo comeback

In a delightful surprise to fans, Lisa announced her comeback single, 'Rockstar'. Taking to X formerly known as Twitter), the Thai pop-star dropped an edgy teaser of the track, which saw rock a fiery avatar. Lisa will be releasing her highly awaited single ROCKSTAR on June 28, 2024, at 9 AM KST. The singer marked her groundbreaking solo debut with the single album 'LALISA' on September 10, 2021.
