<p>Bad Bunny meanwhile earned cheers as he delivered a powerful political message, ripping the nationwide immigration raids that have polarized America.</p>
<p>The three music heavyweights are each hoping to take home the gala's most coveted award, Album of the Year, for the first time.</p>
<p>"Before I say thanks to God, I'm gonna say 'ICE out'," Bad Bunny said as he accepted the award for best musica urbana album for his "Debi Tirar Mas Fotos" ("I Should Have Taken More Photos").</p>
<p>"We're not savages, we're not animals, we're not aliens; we are humans and we are Americans," the 31-year-old Puerto Rican singer said, one week before he takes one of the world's biggest stages, headlining the Super Bowl halftime show.</p>
<p>It was a big moment on a night of hard-hitting performances, poignant speeches and one-liners from six-time host Trevor Noah.</p>
<p>Lamar scooped up four awards in the rap categories including best rap album for "GNX," while Gaga won for best pop vocal album and best dance pop recording.</p>
<p>"I just want to say for women in music that I know sometimes when you're in the studio with a bunch of guys, it can be hard. So I urge you to always listen to yourself and always fight for your ideas," Lady Gaga said.</p>

<p>&ldquo;I am not the Dalai Lama,&rdquo; Rufus Wainwright joked in an acceptance speech. &ldquo;It was a privilege to participate on this project."</p>
<p>&ldquo;Golden&rdquo; from &ldquo;KPop Demon Hunters&rdquo; won song written for visual media at the Premiere Ceremony, marking the first time a K-pop act has won a Grammy. Songwriters delivered their acceptance speech in both English and Korean, highlighting the song's bilingual appeal.</p>
<p>Music film went to &ldquo;Music for John Williams,&rdquo; which means director Steven Spielberg has officially won his first Grammy. That makes him an EGOT winner &mdash; an artist with an Emmy, Grammy, Tony and Oscar.</p>

<p>After smashing box office records by earning over Rs 1,000 crore in its theatrical run, "Dhurandhar" started streaming on Netflix from Friday with director Aditya Dhar calling it a new chapter for the movie that stayed in cinemas for more than a month.</p>
<p>Starring Ranveer Singh, Akshay Khanna, R. Madhavan, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal, Sara Arjun and Rakesh Bedi, the film broke many records to emerge as the highest-earning single-language Hindi film in India with India net collections crossing a massive Rs 1,000 crore.</p>
<p>The film released in theatres on December 5 but continued to be watched till January before its Netflix premiere. The audiences can also watch the film in Tamil and Telugu in addition to Hindi on the streaming platform.</p>

<p>The High Grounds police have registered a case against Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh following a complaint alleging "insult to religious sentiments" during a public event, police said on Thursday.</p>
<p>The FIR was registered on Wednesday based on a complaint lodged by Prashanth Methal (46), a Bengaluru-based lawyer, after an Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (ACJM) court referred the private complaint for investigation.</p>
<p>The accused has been booked under Sections 196, 299, and 302 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023.</p>
<p>According to the complaint, the incident pertains to the closing ceremony of the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) held in Goa on November 28, 2025.</p>
<p>The complainant stated that Ranveer Singh, while present on stage and in the presence of the lead actor of Kantara: Chapter-1, allegedly performed acts that mocked and insulted the sacred Bhoota Kola tradition practiced in Coastal Karnataka.</p>
<p>Methal said he is a devotee of 'Chavundi Daiva', a revered guardian spirit worshipped in Bhoota Kola rituals, and that the deity is also his family deity, which he has worshipped since childhood.</p>
<p>He alleged that the actor imitated the divine expressions of Panjurli/Guliga Daiva in a "crude, comical and derogatory manner" and verbally referred to the sacred Chavundi Daiva as a "female ghost." Despite an alleged request not to perform the Daiva act, the accused enacted an emotional Chavundi Daiva scene from Kantara: Chapter 1 on stage, the lawyer said.</p>
<p>"Chavundi Daiva is not a female ghost but a powerful and fierce guardian spirit symbolising justice, protection, and divine feminine energy, and holds deep religious and cultural significance in the coastal region," Methal said in his complaint.</p>
<p>Referring to the deity as a ghost was described in the complaint as "blasphemous and a serious insult to Hindu religious beliefs and practices."</p>
<p>The complainant alleged that the accused, being a widely followed public figure, performed the act on an international platform with knowledge that it would hurt the religious sentiments of devotees.</p>
<p>The complaint further stated that a video of the alleged performance went viral on social media, causing grave mental agony, anger, and resentment among devotees.</p>
<p>Methal said he became aware of the incident after viewing the video on social media. "The act of the accused was deliberate, intentional and malicious, intended to outrage religious feelings," the complainant alleged.</p>

<p>"Stepping away from playback singing feels less like an exit and more like an arrival into freedom, authorship, and possibility," said singer Sona Mohapatra.</p>

For himself first, to explore, to create, to sing his own songs on his own terms. And yes, whether intended or not, this will create space for newer voices who today remain 'scratch singers' on demos... for songs they'll never be allowed to sing," she said.</p>
<p>The voice of love, longing and heartbreak, one of the most in-demand this era, called it quits from playback singing on Tuesday night in an unambiguous Instagram post.</p>
<p>&ldquo;Hello, Happy New Year to all. I want to thank you all for giving me so much love all these years as listeners. I am happy to announce that I am not going to be taking any new assignments as a playback vocalist from now on. I am calling it off. It was a wonderful journey,&rdquo; he wrote.</p>
<p>Though Singh has been elusive ever since, not responding to calls or messages for interviews, some outlets shared comments credited to his private X account called WhoamI.</p>
<p>"There is not one reason behind this, there are several reasons plus I have been trying to do this since a long time. Finally I have gathered the right courage. One of the reasons were simple, I get bored pretty quick, thats why I keep changing arrangements of the same songs and perform them on stage. So here is the thing, I got bored (sic)," he wrote on X.</p>
<p>"Another reason is I am excited to hear some singer come up and give me real motivation," he added.</p>
<p>The account on X is verified with a blue tick and with pictures of Arijit and his family, but it could not be independently established that he is the one operating it.</p>
<p>Singer Shreya Ghoshal, who teamed up with Singh on hits such as "O Mahi", "Manwa Laage", "Tum Kya Mile" and "Tere Hawale", said it is the start of a new phase for him.</p>
<p>"...and I am truly excited to hear, listen and experience what this genius churns out!! I can never call this the end of an era. An artist of his calibre can never be defined by the traditional means and medium and be boxed in to fit in the set formula. Time to soar higher my dear Arijit," she wrote in a comment section of his Insta post.</p>
<p>Actor Neena Gupta said she was initially surprised but then realised how brave a decision it was on the singer's part. "Initially, I was very surprised but then I thought it was a very brave decision on his part. Sometimes we get stuck in a rut... He said he wants to learn more about music, which is a great thing... I'm very impressed by him. We are going to miss him and his songs but maybe he will come up with something else, so kudos to him," Gupta told PTI.</p>
<p>Singer Chinmayi Sripada said, "Whatever he has planned for himself as a musician would be nothing short of divine."</p>
<p>Singh's rise in the Indian music industry has been nothing short of meteoric.</p>
<p>He started out as a contestant on reality show &ldquo;Fame Gurukul&rdquo; in 2005 where he was eliminated from the competition midway. After the reality show, he worked as a music assistant to Pritam for some years before making his playback debut in 2011 with &ldquo;Phir Mohabbat&rdquo; from the Emraan Hashmi-starrer "Murder 2". He also sang "Raabta" from "Agent Vinod" and the popular reprised version of "Phir Le Aaya Dil".</p>
<p>The hits are too many to count but one song that catapulted Singh to the top was "Tum Hi Ho" from "Aashiqui 2", which earned him the best playback singer Filmfare. Over the years, he became the voice of choice for producers in Hindi cinema giving multiple hits every year with songs such as "Agar Tum Saath Ho", "Gerua", "Channa Mereya", "Ae Dil Hai Mushkil", "Bulleya", "Naina", "Zaalima", "Galti Se Mistake", "Ae Watan", "Mast Magan", "Rait Zara Si", "Kesariya", "Apna Bana Le", "Jhoome Jo Pathaan", "Tum Kya Mile", "Ve Kamleya", "Chaleya", "Sajni", "Vida Karo", "Dhun" and "Gehra Hua".</p>
<p>He became the playback singer for major stars like Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Aamir Khan, Akshay Kumar and Ranbir Kapoor with almost every major hit coming out of Bollywood in the last few years mandatorily featuring at least one song from Singh.</p>
<p>In between, there was also criticism about his voice being overexposed but that did not dim his popularity.</p>
<p>Born on April 25, 1987 to Kakkar Singh, a Punjabi Sikh, and Aditi Singh, a Bengali Hindu, Singh inherited his love for music from his family.</p>
<p>In July last year, Singh edged past global pop stars Taylor Swift and Ed Sheeran to emerge the most followed artist on music streaming platform Spotify with 151 million followers.</p>
<p>Despite his overwhelming popularity, Singh led a life away from Mumbai in his hometown of Jiaganj in Murshidabad district of West Bengal where locals often spot him riding his favourite scooty around town like any guy next door.</p>

<p>Sunny Deol-starrer "Border 2" raked in Rs 23.31 crore on day five, pushing its net domestic box office collection past the Rs 200-crore mark, the makers said on Wednesday.</p>
<p>A sequel to Deol's 1997 blockbuster "Border", the movie released in theatres on January 23. It is backed by T-Series and J P Films.</p>
<p>In a press note, the makers said the film has so far grossed Rs 216.79 crore at the box office.</p>
<p>"&lsquo;Border 2&rsquo; has achieved a sensational new milestone, breaching the coveted Rs 200 plus crore mark at the Indian box office in just five days of release. After a massive long weekend, the film has held up remarkably well on its first working day, adding a strong Rs 23.31 crore in net box office collection (NBOC) on day five and taking its total collection to a thunderous Rs 216.79 crore NBOC," the note read.</p>
<p>According to the makers, "Border 2" collected Rs 32.10 crore on its opening day, followed by Rs 40.59 crore on day two, Rs 57.20 crore on day three and Rs 63.59 crore on day four.</p>
<p>"Border 2" also stars Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh and Ahan Shetty.</p>
<p>While the 1997 film was based on the events of the Battle of Longewala during the 1971 India-Pakistan war, "Border 2" is also set against the backdrop of the same conflict.</p>
<p>The movie reportedly didn't find a release in six Gulf nations -- Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) -- due to its alleged anti-Pakistan narrative. A response from the makers is awaited.</p>
<p>It is the second Indian film in recent times to be denied clearance for theatrical release in the Gulf countries after director Aditya Dhar&rsquo;s spy action movie "Dhurandhar".</p>
<p>"Border 2" is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Dutta and Nidhi Dutta. It also features Mona Singh, Sonam Bajwa, Anya Singh, and Medha Rana in pivotal roles.</p>

<p>Actor Varun Dhawan, who faced online trolling over his appearance in the upcoming film Border 2, says he does not pay attention to the criticism and believes his work will speak for itself once the movie is released.</p>
<p>After the release of the film&rsquo;s song &ldquo;Ghar Kab Aaoge&rdquo;, a section of social media users criticised Dhawan&rsquo;s expressions in the track, with some questioning his performance and arguing that he does not fit the role of a soldier.</p>
<p>&ldquo;I believe you need to shut down the noise and let the work do the talking, these things keep happening but it doesn&rsquo;t matter to me. I don't work for this. What I work for, you will get to know this Friday."</p>
<p>"I believe in the film and it&rsquo;s important to make a good film. I&rsquo;m not concerned about the numbers (box office collection) and I come from a school where you let your work do the talking,&rdquo; Dhawan told reporters at a promotional event for the film on Tuesday evening.</p>
<p>A sequel to 1997 epic war film "Border", "Border 2" explores the 1971 Indo-Pak war and is fronted by Sunny Deol, who will be seen playing the role of an army officer. The new film is directed by Anurag Singh of &ldquo;Kesari&rdquo; fame.</p>
<p>In the movie, Dhawan will be playing the role of Major Hoshiar Singh Dahiya, a Param Vir Chakra awardee.</p>
<p>The 38-year-old actor, best known for his work in rom-coms such as &ldquo;Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania&rdquo;, &ldquo;Main Tera Hero&rdquo;, &ldquo;Jugjugg Jeeyo&rdquo; as well as dramas &ldquo;Badlapur&rdquo;, and &ldquo;October&rdquo;, said he is aware that many people believe he will not be able to pull off the role of a soldier.</p>
<p>&ldquo;I did whatever was needed for the film. It required a lot of hard work, but it was fun shooting for &lsquo;Border 2&rsquo;. I&rsquo;ve not enjoyed it so much in a long time. It was a challenge for me. People thought I may not be able to do this role but I did it and it was fun for me to do it,&rdquo; Dhawan said.</p>
<p>The makers launched &lsquo;The braves of the soil &ndash; tribute&rsquo; trailer on Tuesday evening, which was attended by Dhawan and his co-star Ahan Shetty as well as producers Bhushan Kumar and Nidhi Dutta, music composer Mithoon, and lyricist Manoj Muntashir and Colonel Sushil Kumar Dahiya, son of late PVC Hoshiar Singh Dahiya.</p>
<p>Ahan, son of Suniel Shetty who featured alongside Deol in the original film, said he has tried to give his best for &ldquo;Border 2&rdquo;. He plays the role of a naval officer.</p>
<p>&ldquo;There is a responsibility. The trend is really going crazy and all of us are enjoying it a lot. This is something that we can give back to our fans and we will do whatever we need to,&rdquo; he said.</p>
<p>&ldquo;And my father is commenting (on social media) because it's his son&rsquo;s film. He wants to support his son through this process. I'm very grateful to him and the entire team of the film for the support,&rdquo; Ahan said.</p>
<p>&ldquo;Border 2&rdquo;, produced by T-Series &amp; J P Dutta&rsquo;s J P Films, is set to release theatrically on Friday.</p>

<p>Filmmaker Imtiaz Ali has come out in support of A R Rahman amid a controversy over the music maestro&rsquo;s remarks on declining work in Bollywood and his suggestion that it could be linked to a &ldquo;communal thing&rdquo;, saying the comments may have been misconstrued.</p>
<p>The Oscar-winning composer told the BBC Asian Network in a recent interview that the volume of his work in the Hindi film industry has declined over the past eight years, suggesting it may be linked to what he described as a &ldquo;communal thing&rdquo;.</p>
<p>He also pointed to shifts in the industry&rsquo;s power structures, saying creative control has moved away from artistes. His comments triggered a debate online and within the film industry with critics questioning the basis of his observations.</p>
<p>Ali, who has frequently collaborated with Rahman for films such as "Rockstar", "Highway", "Tamasha" and most recently "Amar Singh Chamkila", said he has never felt any kind of "communal bias" in Bollywood.</p>
<p>&ldquo;No, I don't think there is a communal bias in the film industry. I've been here for a long time, and I've never seen it, and AR Rahman is one of the brightest figures that I've met in the film industry," the filmmaker told India Today.</p>
<p>&ldquo;I do not actually believe that he made all the comments that are being attributed to him, or maybe it's been misconstrued. In fact, I know that he did not say exactly what is being perceived. Also, I don't remember of a single incident where there was any communal bias or animosity,&rdquo; he added.</p>
<p>In the interview with BBC Asian Network, Rahman was asked if he faced any prejudice in the Hindi film industry when he started out in the 1990s.</p>
<p>"Maybe I didn't get to know all this stuff. Maybe God concealed all this stuff. But for me I never felt any of those, but the past eight years, maybe, because the power shift has happened," he replied.</p>
<p>"People who are not creative have the power now to decide things and this might have been a communal thing also but not in my face. It comes to me as Chinese whispers that they booked you but the music company went ahead and hired their five composers. I said, 'Oh that's great, rest for me, I can chill out with my family'," he said.</p>
<p>Among those who criticised Rahman for his comments was actor and BJP MP Kangana Ranaut, who called him &ldquo;prejudiced and hateful&rdquo;.</p>
<p>Veteran lyricist and screenwriter Javed Akhtar, who has collaborated with Rahman on several projects, said he disagreed with the suggestion of communal bias.</p>
<p>As the debate intensified, Rahman issued a clarification on social media on Sunday, saying his remarks were misunderstood and that he never intended to cause pain.</p>
<p>&ldquo;India is my inspiration, my teacher and my home. I understand that intentions can sometimes be misunderstood. But my purpose has always been to uplift, honour and serve through music. I have never wished to cause pain, and I hope my sincerity is felt,&rdquo; he said.</p>

Shah Rukh Khan, however, brushes off the power the title bestows on him, saying it&rsquo;s less an identity and more &ldquo;a reminder to live with heart, humility, and purpose&rdquo;.</p>
<p>&ldquo;The word 'king' has never meant power to me. It has always been about responsibility -- to the people who believe in you and the stories you choose to tell...,&rdquo; Shah Rukh told PTI in an email interview.</p>
<p>The star, first seen in the TV show "Fauji" in 1989, has worn the &lsquo;Bollywood king&rsquo; crown with ease over three decades. Maybe not any more.</p>
<p>&ldquo;As time passes, you realise that what truly matters is not the title, but the intention behind your work,&rdquo; said Shah Rukh, who has lent his voice to fireworks show "The Lion King: Celebration in the Sky" aboard Disney Cruise Line&rsquo;s latest ship, Disney Adventure next month.</p>

<p>The film explores themes of responsibility, loss, and the circle of life.</p>
<p>Shah Rukh, whose association with Disney began in 2004 with the Hindi version of "The Incredibles", titled "Hum Hain Lajawaab", said animation&rsquo;s limitless possibilities continue to inspire him and the films have been a big part of their family time.</p>
<p>"I find that there&rsquo;s an emotional honesty to animation... There are no human beings in 'The Lion King', and yet this is a deeply human story at its core, centered around the relationship between a father and son, exploring themes of love and loss. That&rsquo;s the magic of animation.</p>
<p>&ldquo;It helps us reflect on our own lives and relationships in profound ways. I believe this is why stories such as 'The Lion King' endure and are so well-loved even after 30 years," he said.</p>
<p>Terming his latest project with Disney, which will debut during the vessel&rsquo;s maiden voyage from Singapore on March 10, a &ldquo;full-circle moment&rdquo;, Khan said returning to the world of "The Lion King" feels like &ldquo;coming home&rdquo;.</p>
<p>&ldquo;I&rsquo;m excited that more families and fans across Asia will now get to celebrate this classic tale and its iconic music in a brand-new way, creating lasting memories at sea.&rdquo;</p>

<p>The Supreme Court questioned the title of filmmaker Neeraj Pandey&rsquo;s film &lsquo;Ghooskhor Pandat&rsquo;, issued notices to the Centre and CBFC, and sought an affidavit stating it does not denigrate any community.</p>

<p>Observing that a section of society cannot be denigrated in the name of freedom of expression, the Supreme Court on Thursday rapped filmmaker Neeraj Pandey over the title of his movie 'Ghooskhor Pandat'.</p>
<p>The top court was hearing a plea seeking a stay on the release of the Manoj Bajpayee-starrer film on OTT platform Netflix.</p>
<p>A bench of Justices B V Nagarathna and Ujjal Bhuyan issued notices to the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Central Board of Film Certification and Pandey on a plea against the movie.</p>
<p>"Why should you denigrate a section of society by using such a title. Freedom of expression is one thing. That doesn&rsquo;t give license to denigrate anybody. This is against morality and public order. We will not allow you to release the film unless you tell us the changed title...We thought filmmakers, journalists, etc are responsible people," the bench said.</p>
<p>The top court directed Pandey to file an affidavit that the film 'Ghooskhor Pandat' doesn't denigrate any section of society.</p>
<p>During the hearing, the counsel appearing for the filmmaker submitted that a new title has not been decided as yet and assured the court that it will be such that there will not be any conflict.</p>
<p>"You make a submission that you will not have this title. We are fully respecting the right under Article 19(1)(a). But there are certain restrictions. We want to include the aspect of fraternity. It is one of the basic principles of the Constitution. We want to relate this matter to fraternity.</p>
<p>Why can&rsquo;t there be a restraint when you try to make this kind of division when there are already fissures in society. Why should you denigrate anybody? Why should you denigrate a section of society by this kind of title? Being woke is one thing. But denigrating the public and creating this kind of unrest. You are adding to the unrest," the bench observed.</p>
<p>The matter would be heard again on February 19.</p>
<p>The plea alleged that the movie promotes caste and religion-based stereotyping and threatens public order, communal harmony, and constitutional values.</p>
<p>'Ghooskhor Pandat', produced by Pandey, was announced by Netflix at an event in Mumbai recently.</p>
<p>It also stars Nushrat Bharuccha, Saqib Saleem, Akshay Oberoi, and Divya Dutta.</p>
<p>The top court was hearing a PIL filed by Atul Mishra, National Organisation Secretary of the Brahman Samaj of India, seeking directions to stay the release of the movie.</p>
<p>The plea alleged that the movie title and storyline are prima facie offensive and derogatory, which portray the Brahmin community in a defamatory manner.</p>
<p>The PIL objected to the use of the word &ldquo;Pandat&rdquo;, a caste and religion-identifying title, alongside &ldquo;Ghooskhor&rdquo;, which denotes bribery and moral corruption.</p>
<p>On Tuesday, Netflix India had informed the Delhi High Court that the film will be renamed.</p>
<p>"The producer has taken a conscious decision in light of the concern that has arisen to change the title of the film from 'Ghooskhor Pandat' to an alternate title which more accurately reflects the film's narrative and intent," the HC had recorded.</p>

<p>Bollywood superstar Salman Khan&rsquo;s brother-in-law Aayush Sharma has allegedly received a threat email, police have said, the development coming close on the heels of actor Ranveer Singh getting a threat through WhatsApp.</p>
<p>The sender of the email to Sharma, who is also an actor, claimed he was a member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, they said on Wednesday, without providing further details.</p>
<p>Though there was no formal complaint, the police have launched a probe in connection with the threat email to Sharma, an official said.</p>
<p>Crime branch sleuths are verifying whether the email was genuine or somebody played mischief, he said.</p>
<p>Recently, actor Ranveer Singh received a threat through a voice note on WhatsApp from unidentified persons.</p>
<p>Police suspect members of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang could be behind the threat to Ranveer made with the purpose of extortion, an official said on Tuesday.</p>
<p>Last week, an unidentified shooter fired five rounds at filmmaker Rohit Shetty's residence in Mumbai's Juhu area.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Following the massive box office success of "Dhurandhar", Ranveer Singh on Tuesday shared the highly anticipated teaser of "Dhurandhar: The Revenge", the film's second part, which showcases his character of spy-gangster Hamza Ali Mazari transform into a killing machine in his quest for vengeance.</p>
<p>At the end of the over one-minute-long teaser, Singh's voiceover declares "Ye naya Hindustan Hai, ghar me ghusega bhi aur maarega bhi" (It's new India. We will not only infiltrate the enemy territory but also kill).</p>

<p>Slated to arrive in cinemas on March 19 Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam languages, the Aditya Dhar-directed film shows the younger version of Singh's Jaskirat Singh. The new movie will focus on Jaskirat's backstory and what led to his transformation as Hamza.</p>
<p>"Dhurandhar", which released on December 5, turned out to be a blockbuster by earning over Rs 1,300 crore at the box office. The first part is now streaming on Netflix.</p>
<p>Actors R Madhavan, Arjun Rampal and Sanjay Dutt also return in the teaser briefly, which promises to be high on action and violence.</p>
<p>Set in Lyari town of Karachi, an area known for its history of gang wars and violent turf battles, "Dhurandhar" revolved around covert intelligence operations at the background of geopolitical and terror events like Kandahar plane hijack, 2001 Parliament Attack and 26/11 Mumbai attacks.</p>
<p>The film was produced by Dhar and his brother Lokesh Dhar through their banner B62 Studios alongside Jyoti Deshpande of Jio Studios.</p>
