'Titanic' door controversy: Kate Winslet breaks her silence, doesn't think Jack would have survived

There seems to be no end to the debate over the heartbreaking conclusion of acclaimed filmmaker James Cameron's 1997 hit film 'Titanic'.

For those who missed watching the movie, towards the end, Jack and Rose find a floating raft after the ship's fatal crash into an iceberg. Only Rose could fit on it as the raft was unstable and Jack froze to death in the chilling waters of the Atlantic Ocean.

In an interview with Happy Sad podcast host Josh Horowitz, Kate Winslet, who started as Rose in 'Titanic', has now shared her views on the ongoing debate.

The host showed the video of Leonardo to Kate as he asked the same question. Kate smiled and avoided it by saying 'no comment'. Her initial reply to the video was 'I don't know'. She stated that she personally thinks if two adults are put on a stand-up paddle board it becomes unstable.

'That would not have been a sustainable idea,' she said.

Speaking with Toronto Sun, James Cameron said they actually conducted a scientific study in the matter and they'll do a little special on it that comes out in February.

This will coincide with a 4K restoration of 'Titanic' which is scheduled to release on Valentine's Day weekend.
