Timothée Chalamet pulled the ultimate cameo move by crashing his own look-alike contest in lower Manhattan on October 27. The packed event got so wild that police showed up, dispersing the crowd and even making an arrest!

Surrounded by bodyguards, Chalamet snapped photos with his high-cheekboned, curly-haired doubles, some decked out as his iconic roles—Willy Wonka and Paul Atreides.

In a hilarious twist, some fans showered the look-alikes with starstruck excitement, convinced they’d hit the jackpot and met the real Chalamet himself!

Promoted through flyers scattered across New York, the Timothée Chalamet look-alike contest was just one of several quirky events organized by YouTube personality Anthony Po. Word spread fast on social media, and soon thousands RSVP’d, eager to snag the $50 prize for best doppelgänger.

Minutes after the contest kicked off, police arrived at Washington Square Park, ordering the crowd to disperse and slapping the organizers with a $500 fine for hosting an “unpermitted costume contest.” One contestant was even escorted out in handcuffs, though the police gave no immediate explanation.

“It started as a silly joke, and now it’s turned into chaos,” said Paige Nguyen, a producer for Po.

Unfazed, most of the Chalamet hopefuls and fans simply moved to another park. On a makeshift stage, the look-alikes tackled questions about their “romantic plans” with Kylie Jenner (rumored to be dating the actor), tried their hand at French, and shared their ideas on improving the world.

Finally, the audience crowned a winner: Miles Mitchell, a Staten Island native and college senior, dressed in a purple Willy Wonka outfit. He tossed candy from a briefcase to cheering fans.

“I’m thrilled and a bit overwhelmed,” Mitchell said. “The competition was tough—there were so many solid Chalamets. It could’ve gone to anyone!”
