The official trailer for ‘The First Omen’ has been released. The horror movie follows an American woman sent to Rome for church duty, who discovers a chilling conspiracy, challenging her faith.

Directed by Arkasha Stevenson, the film stars Bill Nighy, Charles Dance, Ralph Ineson, Sonia Braga, and Nell Tiger Free.

The trailer opens with a disturbing childbirth scene before introducing Carlita, a troubled girl causing chaos in an Italian church. Despite skepticism among convent members, ‘The First Omen’ trailer teases forthcoming monsters and demons.

In the trailer, Father Brennan (Ralph Ineson) fervently alerts anyone willing to heed his warning that evil is on the verge of descending upon Earth, with ominous signs hinting at the impending arrival of the malevolent force. This teaser prompts viewers to question their perception as they witness unsettling phenomena.

‘The First Omen’ continues a longstanding film series that began with 1976's ‘The Omen.’ The franchise includes three sequels and a 2006 remake. This latest installment marks the first film in the series since the remake.

Based on ‘The First Omen’ trailer, the prequel seems to delve deeper into religious themes than previous films. Unlike the original, set in a typical home, this one unfolds in an Italian convent, intensifying the clash between piety and a sinister Satanic presence.

With ‘The First Omen’, there's an opportunity to reimagine the story with fresh faces and creative talent. Director Arkasha Stevenson, who is making her feature debut, brings a new perspective. As the film premieres this spring, audiences anticipate this refreshing take.

‘The First Omen’ opens in theatres on April 5.

The classic ‘Omen,’ featuring Gregory Peck and Lee Remick, remains a horror masterpiece, inspiring a successful franchise.

The film portrays a couple's growing suspicion that their son, Damien, is the antichrist.

Directed by Donner, its iconic score by Jerry Goldsmith and memorable set pieces set the standard for the franchise, echoing themes seen in the ‘Final Destination’ series.
