Singer Shakira took to Instagram to share a video of an unexpected visitor during the shooting of her latest music video for the song ‘Copa Vacia’.

In the video, the ‘Hips Don’t Lie’ singer is seen dressed as a mermaid with pink hair, lying among a pile of trash when a rat suddenly appears. The rat startled her, making her scream and jump up. She accidentally leaves her hair extensions behind.

The singer can be seen trying to free herself from the rodent’s presence. Sharing the video, she wrote ‘Cosas que le pasan hasta a las sirenas (Things that happen even to mermaids).’

Shakira's fans left some light-hearted comments and playful remarks on the video.

The music video was released in June alongside the song. It tells the tale of a mermaid who is taken away from her ocean abode and placed in a tank for public display.

Shakira took to Instagram to share the challenges she faced while portraying the mermaid character.

Shakira told Hola!, ‘The fish tank broke, the set began to flood and they had to take me out of there. I couldn’t go out because I had a mermaid tail, and I couldn’t climb out.’
