SAG Awards 2024: Anne Hathaway & Emily Blunt roast Meryl Streep as 'The Devil Wears Prada' cast reunites

Anne Hathaway, Meryl Streep and Emily Blunt had a 'The Devil Wears Prada' moment at the 2024 Screen Actors Guild Awards 2024 as the iconic trio came together to present the award for Best Actor in a Comedy Series. The reunion marks 18 years since the beloved 2006 movie, directed by David Frankel, premiered.

Andy and Emily reunite with Miranda

It was Streep, who took the stage first alone and told the crowd, she had forgotten her glasses and the envelope, which had Winner's name. Following this, Andy (Hathaway) and Emily (Blunt) appeared to lend Streep's Miranda a hand.

Before handing out the award, Emily and Hathaway took the rare opportunity to grill Streep. "Oh, okay. It's an age-old question. Where does the character end and the actor begin?" Streep asked, to which Blunt responded, "As we've just seen, Meryl and Miranda Priestly are sort of like twins." "I don't think I'm anything like Miranda Priestly," Streep said, though Hathaway hilariously interrupted her, quoting Streep's most iconic lines from the movie: "No, no — that wasn't a question." Blunt also trolled Miranda by telling Streep, “By all means move at a glacial pace.”

'The Devil Wears Prada' Sequel in works?

After the 'Mean Girls' reboot, fans of 'The Devil Wears Prada' have been anticipating a second instalment of the iconic film. Despite the nostalgic reunion, a remake of the iconic 2006 film is not on the cards. Blunt told the Happy Sad Confused podcast in early February this year that the cast hasn't any good reason for a sequel. "It's a one-and-done thing,“ she said.

Earlier, Hathaway also shut down the hope of a sequel. She told Variety, "I just think that movie was in a different era. Now, everything has gone so digital and that movie centred around the concept of producing a physical thing. It's just very different now.“
