Rihanna clarifies on ‘retirement’ and ‘pregnancy’ rumours, talks about her next album

Rihanna sparked rumours and concerns among her fans after the pop queen was seen wearing a T-shirt with ‘I’m retired’ message. The singer celebrated her Fenty Hair Line on Monday and spoke to the media on the occasion. Riri clarified the rumours of her retirement and pregnancy that have been circulating on social media.

Speaking to news outlet Extra, Rihanna addressed the rumours and clarified that her T-shirt was just a fashion statement. “Wait for the ‘I Quit’ T-shirt,” she quipped. The singer went on to say, “That was just me looking into the future. I’m not retired. I just liked that dress. I got it as a gift and I loved it… They didn’t read the second line. I’m not retired, I’m just retired from dressing up — it’s a lot of effort.”

Rihanna’s retirement was not the only rumour that is there. Some reports also claimed that the singer is pregnant again. While the singer did not say much about currently being pregnant, she talked about having a baby girl. “Everybody is pushing for that. Look, if I ever get a daughter, I'm gonna show her so much footage — she’s been talked about forever,” she said before adding, “A spicy little girl would be so fun.”

The nine-time Grammy winner also gave hope to the fans waiting for her new album. She revealed that she’s starting over and is prepared to get back in the studio. “Yeah, I’m starting over,” RiRi told Entertainment Tonight. She added, “I think that music, for me, is a new discovery. I’m rediscovering things. I have been working on the album for so long that I kinda put all that stuff aside and now I’m prepared to go back in the studio. I’m gonna start — give me a second!”
Rihanna’s last studio album ‘Anti’ was released in 2016. Her fans have been desperately waiting for her ‘R9’ project and the bad girl has been teasing her next project for a while.
