Rihanna and Kendrick Lamar reportedly turn down the Coachella 2025 headlining gig. What's the scoop?

The Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival is set for April 11-13 and 18-20, 2025, at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California.

Paul Tollett, the festival’s founder and long-time promoter, is on the hunt for headliners for 2025. He aimed high, reaching out to two of music's biggest stars: rapper Kendrick Lamar and singer Rihanna.

However, a report from Bloomberg indicates that both artists have turned down the opportunity to perform.

Lamar, who graced the main stage in 2012 and headlined in 2017, is slated to perform at the 2025 Super Bowl halftime show. After that, he will embark on a major stadium tour, leaving him unable to commit to Coachella.

On the other hand, Rihanna has shifted her focus from music to her thriving business empire, including her successful beauty line, Fenty Beauty. She may feel she no longer needs the exposure or financial boost a Coachella set could provide.

As soon as the news broke, reactions flooded online, with many expressing their thoughts on the festival's perceived decline.
