Report: ‘Game of Thrones’ spin-off series centered on Jon Snow in development at HBO, more details here

It is time for 'Game of Thrones' fans to cheer! According to The Hollywood Reporter, a live-action spin-off series based on Kit Harington's Jon Snow is in early development by HBO. Harington, who was nominated twice for an Emmy for his portrayal of the king in the North, is likely to reprise his role in the series.

'Games of Thrones' is set on fictional continents of Westeros and Essos. The major part of the show focuses on the Iron Throne of the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros for which many are fighting.

In the final season, Jon Snow discovers that his actual name is Aegon Targaryen, who is a potential heir to the Iron Throne. He was thrown out from Westeros, following which he decides to leave his old life behind and travels North of the Wall with the Wildlings.

Other spin-off projects are also lined up including the forthcoming show 'House of the Dragon,' a prequel series that will debut on August 21. Set 200 years before the events in Thrones, 'House of Dragon' will describe the events of a civil war within House Targaryen .

Other prequels confirmed by HBO are 'Tales of Dunk and Egg,' '10,000 Ships and Nine Voyages.'

'Game of Thrones,' created by David Benioff and D. B. Weiss, is an adaptation of George R. R. Martin's series of fantasy novels 'A Song of Ice and Fire.'

Besides Kit Harington, Sophie Turner, Emilia Clarke, Maisie Williams and Peter Dinklage played pivotal roles in the series.
