Pamela Anderson to receive Golden Eye Award at Zurich Film Festival in honour of her 'versatile career'

Veteran actor Pamela Anderson will be honoured by the Zurich Film Festival. She will be receiving the festival’s Golden Eye Award for her unparalleled contribution to Hollywood on October 4 at the event, which runs from October 3-13. She will also be presenting her latest film 'The Last Showgirl' with director Gia Coppola.

In 'The Last Showgirl,' which premiered at the Toronto Film Festival earlier this month, Anderson plays Shelley, a 50-year-old showgirl facing the end of her long-running Las Vegas show. The actor has been receiving widespread critical acclaim for her performance in the film.

Christian Jungen, artistic director of the Zurich Film Festival, said: “Pamela poured her heart and soul into the character of Shelley and captivated us right from the start. She completely immersed herself in her character, turned Shelley’s inner life inside out with her facial expressions and made sure that we sympathized with her.

He added: “A terrific performance, perhaps the best of her career, which deserves an Oscar nomination. We are therefore delighted to honour Pamela Anderson, this cult actress with whom many of us have grown up and who has reinvented herself time and again, at the Zurich Film Festival.”
